In the framework of the EURspace Project (www.eurspace.eu), HETEL abantean is in Vilnius (Lithuania) with its colleagues from Portugal, Turkey, Romania and Italy to work in the development of a learning outputs matrix to find those ones common (and different) in the curriculum of cookery and bakery courses, levels 3-4 EQF. The intention of this work is to facilitate mobility and recognition of competences across the EU, starting with this pilot project in the mentioned areas. This week, from the 22nd to the 26th of May, we are receiving a group of 14 eachers from Italy, Romania and Turkey within the framework of the IMPROSK Erasmus+ project. As a partner in this project, HETEL will share with them our experience and good practices in the implementation of work based learning (WBL) in our schools. Along these 5 days, the 14 teachers will be in our associated VET schools Maristak Durango, Goierri Eskola and Zabalburu Ikastetxea learning about how we use different methodologies (Problem Based Learning, cooperative learning) and how we work with companies to promote WBL and to keep on improving its quality. At the same time, we have sent to Stuttgart (Germany) 5 teachers from our schools Maristak Durango, Zulaibar, Mondragon and UGLE. During 5 days they will learn how VET schools work with companies in Germany and what kind of training is received by the mentors of these students in companies.

    A final de febrero las personas de HETEL han viajado a Escocia invitados por la asociación West of Scotland Colleges´ Partnership (WoSCoP). Allí han visitado tres de sus centros (Glasgow Clyde College, New College Lanarkshire y City of Glasgow College) y han mantenido encuentros con los representantes del WoSCop para compartir experiencias en diversos ámbitos, entre los cuales destaca, la gestión de centros de FP en Escocia, las fuentes de financiación, la relación con empresas y los servicios ofrecidos a sus asociados.   Hemos aprovechado también para realizar un skype con otras asociaciones de centros europeos (Jyväskylä Educational Consortium (FI), Southern Regional College (EI),  South West College (EI) y  Association HVC (SI)) para recabar información sobre cómo gestionan un centro de FP en Europa. El viaje nos ha servido para darnos cuenta de que el modelo de centro público de FP Europeo es muy similar al de los centros HETEL…Abantean!    ¡Gracias por compartir con nosotros!    Estos días se han realizado las charlas dirigidas a los 100 becarios/as Erasmus HETEL de este curso, con el fin de ofrecerles algunas indicaciones sobre los países de origen, sobre la documentación de Erasmus y otros aspectos generales. Ya está todo listo para que los 30 estudiantes de grado medio  y los 70 de grado superior hagan sus 13 semanas de prácticas en empresas de 10 países diferentes de Europa.    Les deseamos a todos y todas una ¡experiencia inolvidable!   

   Hoy ha comenzado en las instalaciones de AIC – Automotive Intelligence Centre de Boroa la segunda promoción de la especialización en “diseño y producción de troqueles para la obtención de chapa metálica”. A lo largo de estos meses recibirán una formación introductoria en el sector de la automoción.      Los 27 alumnos de 9 centros de FP (Txorierri, Maristak, Somorrostro, Zulaibar, Barrutialde, Bidebieta, Atxuri, Elorrieta Errekamari, Emilio Campuzano y Mungia)  ya han empezado su estancia en las 7 empresas del sector (Gestamp, Matrici, Batz, Cie automotive, Irudi, Odim y Tooling and Services). ¡Buena suerte a todos! Abantean!  

   It is not clear yet if the great technological developments we are living mean a true industrial revolution. What is anyway sure is that the so called Industry 4.0. is brining many organizational and technical changes in companies and VET colleges need to be ready to transmit this to their students.    Through the LAIT 4.0. project, cofinanced by the Erasmus+ Programme, with help of IK4 Tekniker, 7 teachers from HETEL´s schools, 4 from Dundee and Angus College (Scotland), 4 from APRO Formazione (Italy), 4 from SRC Kauno (Lithuania) and 2 from ROC Da Vinci (Netherlands) will update their technological knowledge to be able to assist SMEs and VET students in this adaptation process.    Next Thursday and Friday, 24th and 25th of November, the project team is meeting in Maristak (Durango) and Zabalburu (Bilbao) to start working. Good meeting!

    Our work to improve the quality, impact and expectations for those who choose Vocational Trainining as their career path lead us often to others part of the world. This week, our destination is Germany, where we are meeting with our colleagues of EMPLOVET, an Erasmus+ project to develop materials to help VET graduates in their job hunting process.     During the last months, the project partners have been working in different modules. In the case of HETEL we have been busy with the development of a module on rights and obligations at work from a European perspective, giving also a high importance on professional attitudes at work. These days in Germany, in the premises of our partner  KulturLife in Kiel, we will put our progress in common to assess our results and to start working in the translation of contents to partner´s languages (Spanish, Romanian, Macedonian, Turkish and German). Next year the contents will be available on-line in our project Website, www.emplovet.eu. Don´t miss them!

   HETEL launched a competition among its associated VET schools to design a Website for the European project LAIT 4.0. Through this project, co financed by the Erasmus+ Programme, 7 teachers from HETEL, 4 from D&A College (Scotland), 4 from APROFormazione (Italy), 4 from SRC Kauno (Lithuania) and 2 from ROC Da Vinci (Netherlands) will attend a training course provided by IK4 Tekniker to update their technological knowledge so they will be able to guide SMEs and students in the adaptation process to industry 4.0.    In the first place, we want to thank the participation of all our schools and to recognise the high quality of the received proposals.    In the second place, we congratulate our VET school, Maristak Durango, for winning the competition! We are looking forward to seeing the work of the students!
