HETEL and Maristak Durango introduce specialization programmes in Robotics and Cybsesecurity to our partners in Dual Ecosystems

Dual Ecosystems is an Erasmus+ KA2 project coordinated by ENGIM Lombardia (Italy) with the purpose to exchange good practices in the co-design and co-delivery of vocational education by companies and VET colleges. Through different study visits, we will learn how different education organizations in different countries (Germany, Italy, Basque Country and Northern Ireland) cooperate with their socioeconomic ecosystem in order to improve the quality of VET provision. After on-line visits organised by our partners in Italy, it was the turn of the Basque Country. Maristak and HETEL organised a virtual tour through Maristak College and shared with the partners our experience in co-designing and co-delivering specialization programmes in robotics and cybersecurity, explaining the process we followed, the learning methodology we use, and the perspective of companies and students on the positive impact of these kind of training programmes.

Diseinua International ends this week in the Netherlands

This week teachers and students from HETEL´s schools La Salle Berrozpe, Egibide, Salesianos Deusto, Somorrostro and Zulaibar are in the Netherlands to present the project that, for 2 months and in cooperation with ROC Da Vinci college, have been designing in the framework of Diseinua International. This year, the project consisted of the design of a plastic injection machine. The students, working in international teams (Netherlands-Basque Country) have presented their projects in front of 60 people (students, teachers and companies from the Netherlands), being the presentations in English and answering to all technical questions about their work. At the end of the presentation, a ranking with the 4 best projects has been made, attending to various criteria (presentation, quality of plans or manufacturing possibilities). This experience, possible thanks to the support of BBK Fundazioa and Fundación Vital, has been very enriching both for students and teachers, not only from the point of view of technical competences development but also for their personal and social development. We are very glad to be able to keep alive this experience, which started 4 academic years ago and we hope to keep offering this opportunity to our students in the future!

SIMPLY INCLUDED KICKS OFF IN SWEDEN!

SIMPLY INCLUDED is an Erasmus+ KA2 project which aims to reach out migrant students or graduates in VET to share their stories in the path to education and the labour work in order to guide and inspire other migrants who may feel reflected in them. The project aims to empower migrants all over Europe by sharing videos of those stories. Besides, we will also produce a toolkit to be used by VET teachers in order to facilitate a more inclusive education. Complementing this work, a group of teachers will also go to Iceland to receive a training in diversity management by one of the most prestigious trainers in Europe (Intercultural Iceland). At the end of the project we will also produce videos focusing on the job application process for a migrant in the different partners countries: Germany, Turkey, Sweden, Spain and Slovenia. The partners of the project have experience working together in the SIMPLE project, which was the seed of SIMPLY INCLUDED. From HETEL we are also involving our associated VET school, Centro Formativo Otxarkoaga, who will lead the development of the toolkit in the project. Great to have you on board Ana and Kepa!

HETEL keeps on working for a more inclusive VET

SIMPLY INCLUDED, supported by European Commission under the Erasmus+ Program and coordinated by KulturLife, starts on December 1st 2019 and promotes awareness of the need for social inclusion of migrants and refugees in companies and VET, as well as the positive use of diversity in professional structures. The project is a follow-up project of the Erasmus+ SIMPLE project (Social Inclusion of migrants through Peer Learning Experience) in VET and aims to develop pedagogical methods and materials built upon the concept of cooperative learning together with international project partners. The project outputs are intended to support migrants and refugees becoming aware of their strengths and competences and to present them on the European labour market. This should facilitate their integration into the educational system and at the same time combat unemployment among the target group. Companies and society should also be sensitized for this topic and should create awareness of these issues. The project addresses the need of migrants and refugees, vocational trainers and teachers and companies while all of these groups should be actively involved in the development of the above described material.
